Condo Insurance, Am I Covered Or Not?
Yes, your condo association does have insurance on your building, but you are not fully covered because your personal belongings are not part of that policy. That’s right. Contents and liability are your responsibility so make sure you have protection in the event a loss occurs.
Condo Association Insurance is typically in one of these three forms:
- insures only the primary building and common areas
- insures your building and any items in your unit other than personal property
- insures the building, your unit, and any fixtures or improvements you add to your unit
You need to fill in the uncovered areas. We can meet with you to make sure you get the right condo insurance policy, and you’ll have peace of mind knowing you’ll be protected if a loss occurs.
Have you ever done an inventory of your possessions? I bet you’ll be surprised. Think what you have invested in televisions, laptops, computers and tablets. Throw in furniture, clothes, jewelry, and it is easy to see YOU NEED RENTERS INSURANCE!
